Several THPers were lucky enough to be selected to examination the UST Mamiya Recoil ES shafts with SMACWRAP technology.
SMACWRAP is a production designed to bring damping to composite structures, and in the shafts, is intended to reduce vibrations even farther than current Recoil shafts.
This thread volition serve as a place for testers to give their reviews.

I take been chosen to review the Recoil ES 780 ES with SMACWRAP.
I currently play Wilson Staff C200 irons, shafted with KBS Bout 90 strong shafts for most of the season, and UST Mamiya ES 780 F4 shafts later on in the season.
From an iron shaft, I am looking for a stable feel, with higher, straighter ball flight. This was something the Recoils brought versus the steel KBS Tour shafts. Vibration was still an effect at times.
Out of this testing, I hope to see the consistent ball flight I have liked from Recoil shafts, with even better vibration response.
I stopped by my firm today before a meeting and was surprised with a box on the doorstep.
The shafts are absolutely stunning. The lower cease of the shaft has the aforementioned brilliant chrome like finish seen on the rest of the ES line, with a different pigment job at the butt finish of the shaft, highlighting the inclusion of SMACWRAP.
I received 7 parallel tipped shafts for my four iron through pitching wedge, and a special taper tipped wedge shaft for the gap wedge. Puller and shims are on their style, so I hope for installation this week.

Aforementioned weight as the recoils, slightly lighter than the tour 90s.

I didn't get to play the es 780 for too long in my irons, just hope to be able to give a good comparison between the two.

I was selected to test the Recoil 780 ES SmacWrap shafts in stiff flex. Currently I'one thousand playing the stock Reax Potent steel shafts in my TaylorMade RSI one irons.
I'm actually looking for more than consistency with my irons, primarily trying to get a straighter and higher ball flight.
My shafts showed upwards today and I'm in the procedure of getting everything fix to get them installed. I'm hoping to get this done earlier Sunday. Nosotros leave for our (delayed) honeymoon Sunday and won't exist back for a week. If I don't have time to get them done, I'll definitely be getting them in the week after - and I look forward to sharing my thoughts.
First thoughts - these things are beautiful. My current vi iron has a Recoil 460 F3 stiff shaft installed in it and I absolutely love it. Information technology'due south and then easy to striking. I'grand really hoping these SmacWraps requite similar results.

I love the color scheme on theses shafts. I've been toying with the idea of picking upward some recoils only really need a fitting.

UST Mamiya Recoil SMACWRAP Review Thread
I received my Recoil 760 F3 shafts on Sunday. I had them held at Fedex and they arrived on Saturday but I was out of boondocks. I immediately took them to my golf shop and had them put into my Big Bertha OS heads where I had the current model F3 Recoil 760 installed.
I went and picked them up this night and I tin't await to hit them. UST had said the weight and flying would have some small differences between the ii models. Using a small kitchen calibration, my 7i weighs 393g at + ane/2" including my CP2 pro midsize grip.
I will say the vibration dampening is conspicuously noticeable when you simply tap on the raw shaft between the ii versions. These will definitely stop a peachy deal of vibrations from going into the hands and I oasis't even hit a ball yet.

I'm the fourth tester selected. Unfortunately it will accept me a bit more than to get mine in, and even longer to become them installed. Cheers to the year round golf flavor here, I promise to go along my end of the long term testing though.
Liking all the pics so far guys. Look forrard to the updates!

General FYI, since you can't find these on the UST Mamiya website yet. For parallel tipped shafts, the tip trimming recommendations are the aforementioned as the regular Recoil ES shafts, per Lindsay Burkhart.

The graphics look fantastic on these! I wonder if the Smac Wrap tech volition make information technology into the 95/110/125 series of shafts? I'grand happy with the vibration reduction I got when I switched from steel to graphite, simply down the roads these would exist on my radar for certain.
Looking forward to everyone's thoughts on these!

Prepping shafts for installation once the remainder of my gear comes in for the swap. Tips take been trimmed (except the GW shaft). Checked to make certain the graphics stepped down in the same increments equally the tip trimming recommendations and noticed my 9i shaft was trimmed a i/two inch too short! Lucky I could fix that. As well noticed the SMACWRAP graphics differ between lots. SMACWRAP being in white on ane lot, more of an etched look in some other lot, and altogether missing on 1. Plainly not functioning related but an interesting ascertainment. I'll butt trim tonight, might tip prep likewise.

OK, I did my first range session with these tonight and all I tin say is my kickoff impression is WOW!
As a high handicap player, my ball striking is lacking and I struggle with thin face contact as I am fighting continuing up in my backswing. Even in my previous Recoil 760 ES, I felt like I was hitting a rock when my BB OS came off the bottom of the face. The add-on of the SMACWRAP to these diminishes that feel immensely. Nevertheless, it does non diminish it to the point that you tin can't feel face contact. Y'all can clearly feel when y'all hitting it affluent or thin or on the heel, etc. Every bad hit is however felt simply enough to know what you did wrong just without the os jarring vibration that other shafts tin can transport up to your hands.
From an overall experience perspective, I don't know if this is an aspect of the shafts themselves or that shop that installed them for me only these 760 shafts make the clubs feel more balanced than my prior 760. The overall shaft performance is quite like to the prior generation. It could have but been my night hitting tonight but I do feel these might have a slightly college ball flight than the previous iteration which for me seemed to exist consistently giving me a couple of actress yards. My PW was consistently dropping bombs that would near likely drop and stop on even a dry fast dark-green every bit they were basically falling out of the air from such a loftier launch.
I think my beginning opportunity to go them on a course will exist the gathering here in Columbus adjacent week as I am going out of town this weekend but I'yard hopeful to go out another ii-3 times earlier it gets too cold this fall. Overall I would consider myself impressed with these shafts.

Had to check mine last night, but all of my SMACWRAP graphics are white. Finished my 4 iron last nighttime. I'll endeavour to finish the residual tonight or Saturday forenoon. So hopefully I can have these for a test drive and start providing some feedback.
First impression with some practice swings in the dorsum yard: these but feel nice and polish. The weight and stability of the shaft is awesome and like Greg mentioned y'all can actually tell the difference by tapping it on the ground and the lack of vibration that comes support the shaft. Especially when you compare it to a different club or even my backup 6 fe with the Recoil ES shaft.
I only have a gut feeling these are going to exist really good. Excited to accept them out on the course.
